ABOUT US

LARGE PELAGIC RESEARCH CENTER (LPRC)

Modeled after the Pelagic Fisheries Research Group (PFRP) in the Pacific, LPRC began as a Center to stimulate and conduct research on key species of interest to commercial and recreational fisheries and marine ecosystems in the Atlantic Ocean. The Center, established in 2003 at the University of New Hampshire, functioned as an academic research group and as a coordinator and source of extramural funding for other large pelagic species research.

We are located in Gloucester, MA and working to partner with the fishing communities of Gloucester and New England.
